Ballet

“The history of ballet begins around 1500 in Italy. When Catherine de Medici of Italy married the French King Henry II, she introduced early dance styles into court life in France.”

Ballet developed under the aristocratic influence as a formalized form of dance. A formal dance technique is combined with costumes, scenery, and music, as other forms of artistic elements.

Ballroom and Latin

“The first documented authority of early ballroom dancing is Jehan Thoinot’Arbeau’s Orchesographie (1588) that discussed 16th-century French social dance.”

Ballroom and Latin dancing is fun, varied and suitable for all ages.  It generally needs more room than many other styles of dance, but you can find ample events to dance this style at dedicated Ballroom and Latin dances all over the world

Hip Hop

“Hip hop or hip-hop is a culture and art movement that was created by African Americans, Latino Americans and Caribbean Americans in the Bronx, New York City.”

Compared to many other dance forms, hip hop has a relatively short history. The beginnings of this dance form date back to the 1960s and 70s, but of course the movements and the music have roots dating back much further in time.
